The Color Purple takes to the stage Oct. 25 – Nov. 4 at TSU Performing Arts Center
NASHVILLE (TSU News Service) – The Tennessee State University Theatre Program in collaboration with the Circle Players presents The Color Purple, the Musical, October 25 through November 4 at the Cox Lewis Theater located in the TSU Performing Arts Center.
The Color Purple, a musical adaptation of Alice Walker’s Pulitzer-Prize-winning novel follows Celie, a poor Georgia girl whose life is a series of draining circumstances and a small parade of life-changing characters and associates who move with her through her life. With the help of a strong-willed mentor and female friend, Celie learns to overcome her painful past to find joy in life.
Produced by Latonya Turner, choreographed by Dr. Peter Fields with musical direction by Eddie Chaltron, The Color Purple features an exciting cast from the Circle Players.

The Color Purple runs for eight days at the Cox Lewis Theater with performances Thursday, Oct. 25 – Sunday, Nov. 4. Performances include:

- Saturday, Oct. 27: 3pm matinee / 7:30pm
- Sunday, Oct. 28: 3pm matinee
- Thursday, Nov. 1: 7:30pm

- Sunday, Nov. 4: 3pm matinee
Ticket prices are $18 for adults, $15 for students and seniors ages 60 and up, children under age 6 free. Group rates are available. Ticket discount available at the Box Office for TSU students, faculty and staff with valid TSU ID. Tickets are also available online.
