**Share Your Breast Cancer Survivor Story

For the second year, Tennessee State University will host a stop on the Susan G. Komen For The Cure National Outreach Tour with the Komen on the Go mobile experience Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Komen On the Go at TSU is part of a nationwide tour aimed to teach participants to take charge of their breast health, be empowered to share information with friends and join the breast cancer movement.

“It is a pleasure to host Komen On The Go on the campus of TSU again. Last year was a major success. The participants were empowered with knowledge about breast cancer and were made more aware of overall breast health,” said Dr. Jewell Winn, co-founder of the Women’s Center at TSU.

In 2009, TSU had the largest attendance Komen On The Go has seen at the event of all nationwide stops to date, officials said. “We want to continue celebrating the lives of breast cancer survivors as well as educating and engaging students in the breast cancer movement,“ Winn said.

The signature bright pink vehicle will convert into an interactive learning center with health tips, games, food and videos, and a “graffiti wall” for sharing memories or pledging support for the cause. TSU breast cancer survivors and health care professionals will be on hand to share their experiences and knowledge.  For more information, contact Dr. Jewell Winn at 615.963.5685.

We want YOUR stories about how breast cancer has touched your life as a survivor or your unique experiences and challenges as a family member, friend or caregiver for those living with breast cancer. Please share how breast cancer has affected you or a loved one by commenting below.
